Default How can I get more out of my bike in the low rpms?

I have a 06 cbr600rr, my buddy just went out and bought a 08 gsxr 600. The other day we were racing from various roles and from a 1st gear 20mph role i had him, It was close, but everytime we raced and I was under 10,000 rpms he was pulling on me. When I would hit 10 grand i would either keep up or catch him a lil bit but then i'd shift and the same thing happened. What can I do to the bike to get more out of the bottom end. The bike is stock so fire away?

How many miles? Maybe check the air filter and spark plugs to see if replacement is needed. If both are needed, then your entire powerband would be improved.

And the only reason that gsxr rider was able to pull on you was probably because of the weight difference...his sandals weigh less than your boots.

You could try messing with the gearing...might pull a little quicker off the line. I guess it depends on how much you wanna spend too. Full system exhaust and power commander might help, but that's gonna cost you.

I would do chain and sprockets before I mess with the exhaust. From what I have seen with most people's dyno print outs, whether it has been slip-on or full exhaust, you will see the torque curve basically matches or can be lower than stock at the bottom and then the curve shoots up past the stock curve at mid to high range. Again, get the sprockets because people say good things about them.

I ordered my 520 kit last week, it will be in Tuesday. I'll be sure to let u know what the difference is. When I had my old cbr600 f2 I bought the same kit and it made the difference of not being able to clutch a wheelie to pulling up in 2nd gear.

A simple and cheap $15 one tooth down front sprocket would make a sizable difference, it was worth about .3 in the 1/4 mile on my F2.
