After paying 90 bucks for my rear stand, I decided to make my own front stand. I know how to weld so I thought no problem. I just took measuremnets of the forks and ordered replacement hardware for the DMP front stand (12.99 plus shipping). I bought some used roller blade wheels and bearings from play it again sports and spent a total of 28 bucks with the hardware. I got the metal for free. It is a little crooked and not pretty at all but it worked just fine and I had 60 bucks left over.

Maybe solid oak could support the weight, but that could get as expensive as buying one.
