I read on this forum a while ago before I joined about someone using a rear seat and fiberglass to make there own rear cowl. Does any one know anyone who has done this succesfully and possibly have pictures.

an old rear seat, tear off the plether without distorting the cusion underneath, use the cushion underneat as a base, cut in vents/accents firstthen fiberglass the whole thing with a thin coat to start, obviously more and less in places to get the shape your look'n for and to line up with tail lines, then the fun begins, lots of sanding, dremmeling ect... its alotta work but well worth itto have something no one else has! GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS, LET ME KNOW OF ANY MORE HELP I CAN GIVE YA!

How did u wire up the lights. I like the lit up look I think I might do that with a completely different looking cowl.

its just a bunch of single hyper led's wired to a switch. alotta people dont want neon but once they see its mild just to accent the lines/vents ect.. i would never have under bike neon or anything screaming neon just light accents, check out a couple ive done.http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...rpilot/my3.jpghttp://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...rpilot/my4.jpghttp://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...rrpilot/my.jpg

Here is the seat cowl I designed and made for my bike few months ago and ended up selling many through ebay.

Attachment 74881
I used the passenger seat as a base and after carefully taping it I used expanding foam to
create the design, and as carbonrrpilot says this is where the fun begins, lots of sanding...
