Default Hindle full system

I just bought a used 2004 600rr and noticed that the mid pipe of the exhaust system is touching the lower fairing. I took the fairings off and it seems the header is not installed flush. (the bike has the hindle full exhaust system) I guess my question is 'does it look normal to you guys who has the same setup?

Just because the flange, thats held by the nut, is not flush against the engine does not mean its loose. If the pipe itself is not flush against the gaskets in the head you would be able to hear it leaking. Kind of like a "fst fst fst" sound. The flange should not be tightened til it is against the engine.

I took the whole system off yesterday and it appears to me that the pipes were pushed as far in as possible into the engine the position of the flange can't really be adjusted. Since I have never really seen a full exhaust on a bike so I was wondering if this is normal, anyone has the same setup maybe can post some pictures?
