Hey guys, what's up? I was just wondering what RPM's you guys cruise at while hauling *** on the highway, etc., I don't ever take it out of 4th gear while I'm on the highway but I'm only going 80, so...who cruises at what, and is it safe for the bike?

 

It's different running through the twisties, gears/revs change left and right, constantly...but when you're just going down the highway, or wherever, what gears and RPM's do you run?

 

if i'm just going along the highway, i'm always in 6th. actually, just about any time i'm over 40MPH i'm in 6th.

 

Your in 4th at 80? And keep it there? Why?

I'm with Knightslugger, I'm into 6th gear usually around 40-60 mph. When you're on the highway at 80 mph in 6th, you are already at 7,000 rpm. Why would you need to cruise at a higher rpm on the highway for?

 

Yeah, on the highway if there are no traffic lights in the way - its always 6th gear.

In the twisties, its all about having fun, and depending on the curves its anything
from 1st gear onward.

I don't mind the sound of the engine accelerating, but I don't like revving on the highway
for now reason. Keeping the revs down helps the gas milage too.

 

4th on the highway?!!??!?! anything over 45 im in 6th.

 

same..i try to keep it in a high as gear possible without it bogging...4th cruising on highway goin 70plus? talk about engine screaming..lol

 

has anyone kept forgetting what gear their in and try to upshift when they are already in 6th? I'm still used to my f2 where I'll be crusing on the highway in 6th gear, 65mph at 5k, then when I'm on the RR I'd always think I'm still in 5th when I hit 5000 at 55mph...

 

lol..i look for 7th gear once in a while...
