Hey fellas,
I may be purchasing a 2003 Honda CBR 600 RR with 15,800 miles on it and all maintenance done maticulously. I'm looking to find out what some of you fellas have or heard of miles on a bike. I know hondas are reliable but I'm just curious if it is worth buying a bike with 15,800 miles on it and if it will last!!! Any and all comments will be appreciated...

I sure as hell hope so. I purchased mine 9 weeks ago with 3,120 on her. Now she is over 11,000. Damn sure better get more than 1 summer outta 5,200 Dollars!

 

My 900RR has just over 28,000 and runs better than it did at 6000 miles. I have heard of several sportbikes over the 100k mark. An R1 and a 900RR are the two I read about recently. 16k is NOTHING!!

 

I have 13,500+ on my 05 600RR....

 

WOW..i got my 03 with 5400 on it and i just clicked 10k.Im hopin that you werent implying that 15k is alot.I mean unless of course your only riding 10 miles a day...i went on a 200 mile circle today.So i guess its all personal preference.My 89 had 29k on it when i sold it and ran strong.As long as the maintenance is done at proper intervals...u should be good....youre call tho...

 

some dude was selling a 03rr on here a couple of weeks ago with 4000 miles for 4900

 

I always refer to a fellow rider I know of who has an older CBR and has well over 100,000 confirmed miles (probably near 120,000 by now)...all he's done is routine maintenance...

 

A close friend of mine who bought his 06 CBR600RR two weeks after I did just hit 13,000 miles today. His bike is only 3 months old. (Though, he does have a 170 mile round trip commute to work everyday.) I can't wait until my dial hits 99,999 miles (it resets to 1 after that). I plan on seeing my bike through 100,000 mile mark.

 

My buddy has an old F2 and the way our engines are I don't know if 100,000 would be obtainable, but if you do the maintenance, it will last a very long time!

 

15,800 is not alot of miles on a honda or any other newer sport bike.. you just think it's high because alot of sport bike owners buy them to be " cool " and not actually to ride them sothey only puta few thousandmileson them before they either crash or sell them, the bike will last if it is upkept, if you thnk the price is good then i would say yes purchase it and maintain it and you will have the bike for a long time
