i just got a 2006 CBR 600 RR and the tail light wiring is getting sooo hot that is is starting to melt the plastic in my trunk of the bike.... ant suggestions?? please help thanks =)

o sorry about the grammer, i was in a rush...
so how would i go about fixing this short? the previous owner put some electrical tape and foil over the wiring. After riding for a couple of hours, i took a lookinsidethe trunck and the foilwas completely melted on the plastic.
