I wouldnt waste your money. If the manual states 86 or higher, why would you pay extra for the high grade stuff.
Run 86 in your tank all you want, in fact, use any car oil for oil changes too... why WASTE your money right?

My stunter friends run 87 and use 97 cent wal mart oil... and they still got running bikes... but Ill stick with my Silkolene or R4 at like 7-10$ a Qt, and my 30$ plugs, and my 3.00$ gas now... In fact, while your at it, why waste your money? SELL YOUR BIKE AND GET A SCOOTER...

???WHY WASTE YOUR MONEY??? gets you to where your goin, VERY GOOD GAS MILEAGE ON 86, CHICS LOVE EM, YOU CAN CARRY DRINKS, AND NEVER GET A TICKET, AND YOU HAVE A TRUNK!!!, AND ARE STILL ON 2 WHEELS.... Putt Putt

I always run 94 unless I can't find a sunoco and have to run 93.(advantages of the east cost) 87-89 has a higher lead content and affects performance and engine longevity. While your bike will run on 87 if you plan on having it for a while better to run the higher octane as it's better for your engine, especially if you're warping around the state. and if your are skimping on basically $1 for gas maybe you shouldn't own such a high performance bike, just IMO.

My bike has never been subjected to anything other than 93. And neither have either of my cars ('95 Talon TSi AWD and '05 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged)

Ok here it goes....higher octane burns cleaner and at a higher temperature. lower octane burns clean, but higher octane is better for the frickin O-zone. The gass all comes from the same place. All the additives are in the gas. Some stations advertise this on e while others advertise another one. Open your eyes. watch were the trucks come from. they all go to the same place to pick up the gas. Lower octane can cause pinging in high performance engines, and higher octane can cause pinging in lower performing engines..... If you want more octane. buy some 104 octane booster from the local part stores..... another thing motor oils all are made the same way. just different additives. crude oil is thin. when you remove the impurities. the consistancy gets thicker. Oh by the way. if vegetable oil comes from vegetables, olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from????

well the 600rr is obviously a high performance engine so why it would it say 86 or higher, when 86 or 87 is clearly a low octane gas for lower performance engines?

I usually use 93 octane. I switched up to see which gas would give me a better mileage( 89 or 93). I got more miles out of the 89 gas. But not by much.
