Default RE: Full coverage or Liabilty

Hi guys, Im 20 years old and riding a 2003 Honda CBR 600RR with 2000 miles. When I was looking for insurance i was getting insane quotes like $4600 a yr from all state. progressive was $4200 a yr. state farm, was right around there like $4500(who i have car and life insurance with). Well I talked to my cousin and his buddy works with state farm. He ended up hooking me up through state farm for $440 a year for full coverage, $1000 deductible. Fishuntbike, u say ur from northern illinois...where from? The guy my cousin knows has hooked up all of my buddies, and Im sure he will do the same for you. So email me at dan1sol@aol.com and ill send you his name and #, if youre interested!!!

btw, I got in a real bad accident when I was 16, so I got a hit on my car insurance...the law says I was at fault, but i completly wasnt!

I have progessive liability and comprehensive. If you can get full coverage for a good price then get it. just make sure that it is with a reputable company. For me the cost of full coverage wasnt worth it nor did I want to spend over 2K for it.

Oh by the way make sure you have proper health insurance and gear. For a young man health insurance is not too expensive compared to motorcycle insurance.

sad story recently with Ernesto:

Guy's RR was submerged under water, No flood damage
After the water receded, the bike was jacked, no theft insurance

Totally screwed.

I have full coverage with a 250 deductible. I only pay 29 dollars a month with state farm. Granted I did not just buy my motorcycle to wreck it. If you are smart and dont try stupid things you will never wreck it, just watch out for the dip****s that dont see you.

FULL COVERAGE at a $250 deductible. I have my car through State Farm, so I put my bike on the same policy and the bike is 72.94 / mo. Not bad considering full coverge for my 1994 Dodge Shadow beater is 130 / mo.

Recommendation: Bikes are expensive for what they are. Bike parts are expensive. Wrecking a bike is extremely expensive. FULL COVERAGE ALL THE WAY (especially if you are still making payments on it).

Yea, Well, when you can buy a new bike for less than the amount of full coverage for a year, it doesnt work out too good!!!
