Do you ever ride with the high beam on? If so, I would also be interested to know why only the low beam side warped and not both, or the other side......

 

I only put the high beam on when its absolutely necessary, or some assh*le is giving me trouble. I rarely use it. I think it is a product of heat from the low beam constantly running... Only the low beam side has warped.

 

Seees like an isolated issue. Hamster runs high and low beams all the time, and he has just about the same milage as your bike, and there's not even a hint of it even starting.

 

i run my red 07 with high and low beams on at all times and i haven't had any trouble (knock on wood). maybe it was just bad paint from the factory that couldn't take a little heat? at least you get to do hid after it's fixed

 

yea no problems here with that on my 07 and i already have almost 10k on mine and i'v only had it since july . AND i live in texas .. we all know it gets hot here ...

 

A friend of mine has that 07cbr and his bike did the same thing on the lowbeam side.. He took it to the dealer and they said that they have heard about it in a couple bike and that they are covering it under warranty no questions asked.. We are in New Hampshire so its only really hot here for about 4 months.. his warped worse than yours.. I would say take it to the dealer and you should have no problems good luck with the repairs

I think fox is right, its an isolated issue. Might just be a faulty light or housing, but its definitely from heat, its very typical of high heat on plastic. I just dont know why it happened. Im definitely doing the HID when its fixed chris, for sure. Speaking of that where do those bulky light modulators go when installing the HID conversion? Its just obnoxious to have another thing fixed...
