Default Frame Sliders...

Hey guys, I am wanting/planning to buy and put a pair of frame sliders on my CBR, but the guy at the dealer only had the ones where he had to drill through my preetty fairings. I go nuts as is over a scratch on the tank due to my zipper rubs, but i dont think i can handle two gapping wholes on the side of my plastics. Are their alternatives for this? I think i seen some r6's with 4 sliders attached without compromising their plastics. suggestions?

Fom what ive heard the only way to put frame sliders on the 600 RR, becuase of its shape and plastic location, is to drill the plastics. BUT! The 1000 RR was previously the same way, untill just recently I heard they have a kit that goes around the plastics somehow. Now... as you can tell, im definately not the expert on this, but there are a few people on here that DO know what is going on in the world of frame sliders. I hope they post for your sake :P

take it easy, good luck,

Chris

It is true that the CBR1000RR has a kit available for "no-cut" sliders, the 600RR unfortunately is not so lucky, it must be cut for sliders to work due to the location needed for the sliders

hey man if you get upset over a scratch then drilling a hole for frame sliders is better than laying your sh*t down and having to pay out the @ss for new fairings! drill the holes, it will be worth it and its not like they look bad

Im trippin over the hole because fairings are extremely expensive and if there IS a way around further damagin them then why not go for it. besides, since drilling a hole is pretty much a trial and error thing it is hard to get them to look right. I have friends come out with crookedness and cracks due to improper installation from cert. honda mechs. but point taken on the whole reason for sliders. thanks for the inputs and i'll give the brands stated a look.

Here's some frame sliders on ebay that I bought for mine.it comes with an alignment tool to mark your hole and they're made of delrin so they'll grind away in a slide and not hang on the road and cause it to flip. They got to my house in two days.Just remember to tape the fairing with masking tape before you drill so the paint doesn't crack or chip.Hope that helps.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=35580
