Default FINALLY got my new bike!!!

So, if any of you remember, I totalled out my '05 back in Sept 07. Took a while to heal up and couldn't walk for two months. BUT now that I'm just about 100% and with spring time right around the corner a great opportunity presented itself: a 2007 White/Silver with 100 miles on it!!The worst part is I already laid it down. Coming off the trailer after picking it up. It was the worst feeling I've had in a while. Rashed up the right side fairings (upper and mid) and engine case coverreally bad. Just barely rashed the tail and right side lower. Trying to get replacements without having to go the dealer. What a bittersweet celebration.

Congrats man!!! Its ok you will do just fine. Word on the street is there is a repsol replica kit floating around ebay for like 500 and change. That will be much cheaper then going through the stealership.

You can also check this out, its a DIY on how to get minor surface scratches out, and seems to be legit. Look at it this way, your bike now has character. Mine has a slightly rashed up right side, cause the back got loose one day and I rode it through a bush! Did not lay it down though, which is good, but I f-ed up the mirror and signals, which I replaced anyways. I think it adds character though, I feel like if I fix it, then ill drop it bad and have to fix much more. Nothing is perfect, and I ride the damn thing, its supposed to look somewhat used.

Hope to see you out there!

I know...I was all supersticious after it happened like "Wow, if I already damaged it the first day it comes home, maybe I wasn't meant to ride it..." Like it was a "sign."

Vertical, do you have the DYI link? I already ordered up a mid from a 600rr.net member for $100 shipped. Not bad considering the dealer wanted $140+ tax.

Crap, I meant to put that in there and spaced out on it. Here she is!

You can find replacement fairings pretty cheap all around, just look man, you'll get em. I think its a little bada55 to have a little damage. Its like a sign saying yeah I actually ride this thing the way it was meant to be ridden!

Nice link to a nice write-up, but I think some of these scratches are alittle too deep for that...I guess I could try it though.

I agree with you on something should "look" ridden if it is being ridden a lot. However, I think only wear items should look like they're being used!! Tires, brakes, etc. Not body parts!!! LOL

I like that color scheme. Nice bike (the unscratched side anyways). J/K, I hope you find some replacement fairings without issues.
