finally broke down and got sliders...
well sorta broke down.
i was sick of waiting for the shoguns to come off backorder and after hearing more horror stories about them i went with the R&G's
for now its just the frame sliders and swingarm protectors (not spools)
after i pay off my CC bill then ill get the bar ends, fork, and spools.
now commense the flaming for buying expensive sliders.. >.<
ill post pics once i get them installed(~2 days)

What about Vortex frame sliders? I am thinking about getting them.
I really don't want to cut into my fairlings, but i am going to do it.
Too bad it took a low speed drop to convince me.
The other week I got on the front brake a bit too much at a stoplight; lack of rear brake i think also.

frame sliders =the best and should be the first mod you ever do. im waiting for my pay check because for some reason my bike (used) has a truckload of mods but no frame sliders... got bars, spools.. no frame.. i am scared for my poor plastics.
I have some frame sliders on the way
i cant wait to get them, it will put my mind at ease whilst riding, i'm also looking into powder coating all the silver, (all the foot pegs etc) and also looking at getting the Laser X-treme exhaust

ive heard the vortex are worse than the shogun LOL
the shop i ordered them from said they had a zx6r with a full R&G kit (bar ends, spools, frame, fork, swingarm) that went down at the track, and the plastic was perfect...
apparently there is pictures somewhere on 600rr.net..
either way, next paycheck is to finish the protection, then i NEEEEEEEED a fender elim. then a yosh RS-5 =D

I just got my 07 and Frame sliders are my first upgrade... of course with the 07 there is no need to cut the fairings. The a FE (I may fabricate my own. If I do there will be pics) then a yoshi... of course the lack of funds right now will put a damper on things.
My bike has extended frame sliders from Ebay...$30-$40 insurance policy and when I went over in my boys gravel driveway the other night they saved me over $1000 in damage to the side farings and everything did their job, I had a small scratch on the tail but it could have been much worse...bar end, frame slider and swing arm spools did the trick... these devices are MUST HAVES on a bike. Replaced them all for less than $150, and considering the alternative, especially since my bike is blue, it would have been ALOT more than that to replace the damage.
No flaming will be done by me. I've now installed a set of Shoguns... and a set of R&G's (the sexy set on my own ride mind you). The R&G's have a better fit and finish and are "beefier" than the shoguns. You didn't do yourself a dis-service by purchasing the R&G sliders.
Im yet to buy them. I dont want cheap ones that will break as soon as it goes down. What would be the best (durable) sliders to get?
On an 06 will I have to cut the plastic?
On an 06 will I have to cut the plastic?
yeha you have to cut, unless you buy the no cut but they dont work for real crashes. no cuts will bend and break and posibly cause more damage so go with the cuts.. its painful to drill into thousands of dollars of plasits but in the end it looks cool and its a big plus anyways
