so i can just get rid of the heat shield all together? doesn't it serve a purpose? i was scared to cut it along theplastic because i thought that everything under and around the back seat would melt or warp. is this not the case? i have no problem cutting that myself, but just thought it had to stay on there until i got different exhaust, no? what is the best thing to use for cutting it (dremmel, tin shears...)?

To answer your question, i'm not the only one that's simply removed the heat shield---and no one i know of has had any problem. It will be hotter for anyone sitting on the back, but i've been checking regularly and i've had no issues with anything melting or getting to hot.
