Hey guys,

Quick question. Let my friend take out my 05 Cbr rr today and when he got back after about 30 minutes of riding he stalled it after restarting it. Now the engine seems to not want to start up.

Any quick pointers.

If the bike turns over hold the throttle wide open and try to start it. Let it turn for awhile, it should start up if nothing else is wrong.

 

yeah hold it wide open... did he drop it? if so, there might be lack of oil in top end of engine and if thats the case turn it on, and get the revs high so that the oil will circulate... it will sound funny at first but after that itll work good.

 

o yah rectifier might be too hot, if thats the case just let it cool down and should start right after that.

Well tried it out with no success yet.

He did not drop it he says (I believe him). Just stop the bike, restarted fine and just let off the clutch to fast stalling the bike. Pop back into neutral and wouldn't start back up. Now the digital gauge cant been seen when you turn the bike on.

could it be the battery? lights still work fine.

 

^^you blew a fuse. what year? im not sure that the cluster is fused parrelel with the ignition but why not, change your fuses and try again

 

It's a 2005 Cbr 600rr

Reviving this thread - looks like there never was a report on solution...

I have a 91 F2 and rode it about 15 minutes with no issue. Riding through parking lot at destination some idiot blows a stop sign and I locked everything up and stalled. She wouldn't start after that. Start button did nothing but I noticed it did dim the dash a bit. Battery is new and fine BTW. I roll started it and it seems like it's missing a little now. WTF could have possibly happened that would throw timing off?!! I'm sitting in my daughter's recital now and figured I'd post this since I'm stuck here for 90 minutes lol... And need to get the bike going to get home!
