Engine misalignment
Hi all.
I am fitting crash bungs to my dads new-to him 06 RR as the previous owner must have removed the ones he had fitted before. (Engine mount type)
however I have found that the engine bolt holes do not line up at the front as if the engine has dropped about 8mm at the front. (Tried to upload a photo but it won’t let me) I have loosened off the two rear engine mounting bolts and tried to jack up the engine into place but it’s not for moving. Bike just Lifts. Have I missed something or what do I need to do to sort this.
many help and advice appreciated as always. Cheers.

Have to remove exhaust to move engine independently from frame.
There's also two rear engine hanger bolts. One above and one below swingarm pivot.
Also have to remove swingarm pivot as well, it attaches to engine.

Cheers for your help.
I was hoping not to have to remove the swing arm pivot
If I loosen the exhaust would that give me the 8mm movement I need. I assume it dropped with the swing arm pivot in.
Would there also be anything above the engine that would stop it moving like the air box or the likes?

You can try loosening exhaust where it clamps to mid-pipe under engine.
There's A LOT of stuff attached to engine that locks it in place. You might be able to do 1/2-way job, but that's why PO ended up with configuration you have now. Do it right and do it just once.

You can hang swingarm+wheel from rear-subframe with ratchet strap so it doesn't fall out when you remove swingarm pivot. Extremely important you torque swingarm pivot properly. it's main clamping point for engine and locates swingarm. Needs to resist moving from swingarm action, but not so tight you crack mounting ears off engine. Use anti-seize on all threads when re-assembling.
