There has been a problem with stolen bike sbeing resold on ebay. If you contact the seller they will tell you something to the effect of Western Union and after you get the bike they send you this passcode to open the account and send the money... don't do it. I know someone that got burned BAD.

Speaking from experience - IT IS A SCAM. I tried to buy a 929 last year which was listed as BUY IT NOW for $3,500. I contacted seller and he recommended we use an ESCROW company - Safepays.com. The way the Escrow was supposed to work is that I pay the money to the escrow, they send the bike and if I'm satisifed then the escrow sends the money - minus their cut - to the seller. I was asked to pay Wester Union and after I sent the money I never heard from the seller or safepays.com again. Safepays.com had a website and I tried to contact them through the numbers listed on the website - they were all disconnected. I was out $3,500 and it hurt REAL BAD for a long time.

OMG! That blows. I would have felt better if I had lost that money in Vegas. At least I would have had a good time. Sorry to hear that bro.

You should always personally pick up a bike or car in an Ebay deal. That way, if something isn't right, you can always back out.

Yup, these scams are as common as rain in seattle nowadays. My buddies wife swore she was dealing legit from a guy with a bike in N.J. but he was in Italy, bike was supposed to be shipped to her house so when she got back from Iraq she would have it. I even read it and listened to her talk to the guy on the phone, seemed almost straight....except for the price.... 3500 bucks later, no R1. I just said "ha, told you so", (cause I did) and thats what she gets for wasting months of quizzing me about bikes to find out what her first one should be and she goes and tries to get an '03, R1. Definitely not my reccomendation to begin with. Sorry for the rant...it happens sometimes.
