Default Down for the count....

Just last week hit a deer on the way home from work with the bike.... I managed to walk away from the 60-65mph crash with some road rash and bruises.... but my poor bike is completely totalled. Its so depressing to see your pride and joy sitting in a pile of what looks like junk. Insurance wont cover it so before I can get another bike I have to pay this one off since unfortunately cant afford 2 bike payments lol. Thinking of picking up deer hunting in the time that I wont be riding as much.... Ill still be riding because I told my girl her bike is getting stolen from time to time. Worst part of it was that 4 hours in the hospital scrubbing the road rash clean....OUCH!!! Well I'll still be around on the site reading posts and keepin up with some friends I met on here. And my next bike will hopefully will be a 1000rr so Ill have to post up some pics when I start the new project bike. Later for now...

Richard

Sorry to hear about you losing your bike but this is a good time to remind people to get GAP INSURANCE to cover events like this.

It was one of the rare times I wasnt wearing my jacket. I was in full dress cloths for work which is less than 4 miles from my house... go figure. I had gloves and a helmet of course, no jacket and dress pants hardly count has pants. Melted teh material into my knees which felt lovely lol. All things considered I didnt fair to bad, Ive heard so many stories of deer encounters going worse so Im not complaining to much. And next time I will definitely look into gap insurance... would be nice to have right about now...

Sorry dude.
Same here with the deer. Have hit two with cars. Saw one this morning running off in front of my bike.
Sorry to kidnap your post, but...
What do you guys think about deer whistles? I have them mounted under my headlight fairing.
With my stock bike I used to come up on deer who were stunned in the middle of the road watching come at them. Always dicey because you're not sure which way they're going to run or if they are.
Since I put on the deer whistles and the 2Bros exhaust I've only seen the ***-end of deer running off into the woods.
Maybe all the noise helps?

Deer hunting should be leagal 365 days a year. Hell for that fact, so should 18 wheelers, little ole ladies in big Buicks, soccer moms in thier Hummers(and all other suvs) and any cager that does not pay attention to bikes. Hunt them all down!

Sorry to hear about your tribulations Stock.

I have one of those deer whistle thingies on my bike, don't know if they work or not but I haven't hit one yet ... no metal parts on our bikes so thing kept flying off, on 3rd one I superglued the sucker on lol.

These 2 sentences seem correlated to each other somehow:

Thinking of picking up deer hunting
