Default diagnostic tool

there are 2 differnent diagnostic tools for our bikes one is a hand held device that displays information on it the other ...the one which i am intrested in is called the "SCS service conector" it is basically a wire that shorts two of four nodes on the data link connector under our seats what I am wondering is which 2 nodes does it short

yeah ill keep yall posted ....im thinking the scs tool may reset the codes that the bike throws....and the hand held device will actually give you a read out of whats going on.....HOWEVER your bikes MIL ( the little red light (oil pressure light)) gives you the same info but does it in blinking codes .....so the only reason to get the scs tool would be to reset the system and see if you fixed the probelm or if it throws the code again.....im deff going to interogate the honda guys though about all of this

not sure at the moment..... im checking cheaper problems at the moment....i hoping i can go by one of the honda places and the will if i know all the tech names and stuff i can borrow theres....esp after spending the money for those dang spark plugs that werent the solution

well i went down to southern honda powersports for all of you that are wondering about the price......and BSed me around a good bit basiaclly telling me it was over my head to use it or reset the computer so.......they said they are expensive no hard core price on the diagnostic tool but they said over $1000 probably because they dont wana loose any possible bussness real vague about everything .....but they also said there not real well made or they dont always properly diagnose the problems or mis diagnose but MIL light on our bike does what the diagnostic tool does but the eluded to the fact that you could use the tool to mess with the programing of F.I. system

Hmmmm. By the way, I missed out on what your bikes starting problem was??? What did you ultimately find?
