RE: *DEAD*
I think the one thing we all need to keep in mind here to KEEP this a great forum with GREAT friends we share & ride with is simply this:
How many of you (ME TOO) have EVER made a stupid mistake on the road whether riding or driving - especially when we were less experienced - that we can now look back on and say, "man I could've died right there! That was plainly stupid! I won't do that again" ????
Get my point? We're all in this together. We've all made ridiculous decisions on the road that we got away with. So none of us are better than anyone else. What sets us apart is we're still alive, well & now we can learn better to manage the risks going forward. We got away with stuff. That's all. We've got another chance to do better & ride wiser, that's all.
Let's take it easy on each other OK?

BBLineBacker81 welcome to the world of cbr forum. I haven't been a member that long but I look at all the forums and see there are a lot of of perfect people that ride. Not everyone falls into this category but those that do you can't change the beliefs untill it happens to them or someone they love.

RE: *DEAD*
Ya know, i think everyone here has a valid point to some extent. I don't think anyone "wants" to see this kid wreck or die, however, given the situation and his actions, while it may not have been "deserved"---it didn't surprise anyone. We are compassionate for the pain he is going through now because he is a fellow rider, but we are not condoning of his choices. He is paying for his actions, and there is no reason to further trash him. If he had come out unscathed, perhaps then would be the time to tear him apart--to ensure that he learned his lesson and didnt do the same thing a mile down the road.
That said, i don't believe OneWheelinRR was really attempting to fluff his ego as much as he was just making a point. Perhaps his delivery was a bit to straightforward for some, but if y'all have read his posts before, that's the way he is. Part of me agrees with him---as you should. I am by no means a great rider, but everyone SHOULD take responsibility for their own actions. If i follow someone who is a better rider than me, and instead of admitting that i can't keep up, i try anyways and crash----that is my fault, and no one elses. If i'm out riding and there's someone who is new or i know is not YET as experienced, i try to politely warn them that they don't have to follow our lines, and we'll have no problem waiting for them to catch up. This is not to degrade that rider, but rather simply to keep him from feeling intimidated. He may come out there and smoke us---and props to him if he does. BUT, i've been down several times since i started riding, lost several days of memory, and have my share of scars. I will tell anyone that--not to boost MY ego, but to let a new rider know that hey---i f*cked up, and don't want to see you in the same situation i was.
Why don't we all just take a deep breath, admit that we hope this guy survives, hope even more that he learned his lesson, and strap on our helmet everyday accepting the fact that we are responsible for as much as we can control---and if the man upstairs decides he's gonna throw any more at us than that, we'll deal with it as best we can or body surf our way to the pearly gate. (LOL or the fiery hole, for some of us! [8D])
Allright i'm done. Guess its time to light into me, huh?

Yeah, it can be hard at times to get "feeling's" and "emotions" across through writing. But that guy was blatant as could be. And it was CLEARY (making it clear that you understand for those who read into words too much) DICK (not talkin genitalia, it's an expression that some people use for people who "aren't nice") of him to say what he said, and quite a few others as well. It's not hard AT ALL to support someone rather than rip them. And if someone feels it necessary for me not to be a part of this anymore because I disagree some of you on this, then so be it, but I'm not going to sit here and be polite about some of you being ******. Simple as that, no more to be said. God be with the poor kid, and you guys as well.
