Default Dash problems

My '03 CBR600RR has a problem with its dash. When you turn the bike off with the key, I lose all trip meter readings and the rev needle stays where the engine was at idle. Turning it back on, the dials do the sweep and all is good, except the trip meter and clock now say zero. Overall mileage is unaffected.
I have only really noticed this problem since having a new regulator/rectifier fitted. I have a new battery too.
Otherwise the bike runs great.
Any ideas?

take off the rubber boot that covers the two buttons on your speedo...under there you should see 2 little white pieces that actually do the work when you reset your miles or times, etc. chances are one broke off and you'll have to fish it out..it happens to alot of early RR's its a pain in the fanny to get it out but it can be done
