Compromises?
I had a question, I asume that some of you went through the same thing. I have found a bike that seems like a pretty good deal, well, at leas the best deal i have found out here. The only problem is it is not my #1 choice or colors. The colo is still barable for me though. What did you guys do in those similar situations. If you did end up going for it despite not being your favorite color scheme, did it bug, or grow on you?
I guess I can tell a little about the bike. It is a used 2005 RR with 1500 Miles. It is bone stock with the exception of frame sliders. The color is red / black. The asking price is $5800, but sure I could walk away for a little bit less.
If I end up getting a used 06' or below I really prefered a blackedout one, only that I see more of the red and blacks.
Any help is appreciated, and sorry for the long post.

I think you have found a good deal. Not too many miles on a bike that has not been customized by another rider, decent colors and the bike itself has had many excellent reviews. Great motor, above average reliability and several other good points. I have a '97 CBR600, though it is not an RR, I love it. It was not my first choice either and the colors (white, black and red) are attractive even if they are not my first choice, they do grow on you. When you're going 60 on a nice day, whether going somewhere or just out for a spin, you won't notice the colors, only the ride itself. If I were you, I would take the deal, even offer less and walk/ride away happy. Good luck.
Why wouldn't you want red? It's more visible/safer than a blacked out bike. Granted, you're never going to be 100% visible to everyone, but it's good to at least try to make yourseft more visible. I recommend doing the brighter color. When my buddy and I got our bikes, first thing out of my mouth when I got there was "dibs on the red one."

i originally wanted a red and black 07, but i found one on the showroom with zero miles and already had the mods i wanted. frame sliders, slip on, shorty levers, f/e, and double bubble. and i got it for pretty cheap. it was worth it and the black has grown on me.
Thanks guys! All responses have really helped. Hopefully I can pick up the bike this weekend, if of course everything is as the seller says it is. Hopefully he allows for a test ride or something.
IF you get a red one, you can continue my bike's legacy.

But I hear you on color. I will not buy a new bike unless it's the exact color I want. --BUT-- if it's an incredible, "stupid not to buy it" deal, then I would probably compromise (as long as it's not pink
). You could always find black fairings on eBay or forums. Or you could even get it painted.
