Default Clutch lifter freeplay 600RR

Hi guys, nice meeting everyone. My bike is 600rr and I'm wondering if the freeplay on the clutch lifter and bearing you can see on my video is normal on those bikes? Should the bearing move like this or only rotate? Thanks for all constructive comments!

Hi kedzio,

Please take a moment and pop over to the new member area to introduce yourself to the forum.
Where are you from, how long have you been on two wheels, what bikes do you have etc.
We also love pictures.

I'm personally unsure of your issue but one of the other will be along shortly.

Cheers

@kedzio Welcome to the forum and great video BTW. That does seem to be excessive. It appears to have the same amount of end play that you would get if one of the washers labeled 17, 18 or 19 on this page were missing. All 3 of them are behind the lock-nut. Has the clutch been taken apart?

Thank you for replying. I haven’t looked inside the clutch yet as I wanted to see what people with more experience and knowledge would advise.

How many miles/kilos on the clock? It's mileage might be an indicator if someone has been into it already. The fact you have the side cover off would seem to indicate you think there is some type of issue there, right?

It's around 38k km. I have the bike for nearly two years and all was grand until recently. I started digging into it after bike developed vibrations above 5k rpm.

Just spoke with mechanic, he straight away noticed the bearing freeplay and said it shouldn't be able to move within the plate. So I'm looking forward to replacing pressure plate and bearing

Those items I listed above, 2 of them are specified as being 2mm thick each. 2mm looks to be about the amount of endplay you've got. I'd make sure I had both of them on hand if you're going to take it apart.

I doubt that's the cause of your vibration, but getting rid of your endplay will certainly help your clutch feel better.
