Default Clarification, NO water????

Ok so I am confused. I see people say don't wash the bike with water and I see some do. So what is the correct answer?? The owners manual says water is just fine. I had to use water the other day as I had my bike out after a rain and I got some crude on the bike and I didn't want to try and rub them off. So what to do with packed on stuff?? Also I was told that if you get rain on the bike you should use somthing like Simple Green on the powder coated parts, like the wheels to neutralize the acid that is in the rain. If it sets it will ruin it. I bought S100 total bike cleaner, spray on detail/wax and a metal/corrosion cleaner and protectant. Is this stuff good?? There are a lot of bike owners that swear by it. I thought it did a great job. Just want to get clarification on washing the bike and rain stuff.

Water is fine to use on your bike as far as I know. I'm not sure how else you could wash it. I personally just use a few damp rags to wipe down all of the dirty parts instead of spraying the whole bike.

water is OK. never had a problem with water and bikes, even riding like 68 305cc scrambler honda, or any of the shadows my old man had, or any of the dirtbikes. Just make sure you dont have important papers under the seat that arent in a plastic bag

Water water water all you want just plug the pipe... or don't. It'll all blow off. You can't hurt it. I waited about 800 miles before my first real wash because simply there was no reason. But eventually they all need to get baptized.

I use water too to clean my bike too and have not had any problems yet. Sometimes I miss some water and maybe have a water mark that goes away later if I wipe it off but that is much better then road grime. After using S-100 then water I take a chamois and dry everything it real good afterwards. I ran out of the spray pump version of S-100 and just bought the aerosol can version but I have not used it yet. I don’t like the S-100 brand Polish/Cleaner because it streaks no matter what I use for wiping off. The Honda Polish/Cleaner is a 1000 x's better IMO.

Ya, soap and water makes a CBR a happy bike. Dry and use Honda polish. Best damn stuff in the world ... period.

God I love Honda polish! I would snort it if it would make me as happy as my bike.

Now i am worried about buying the polish... I have this obsession with sniffing stuff... Including panties and weird smelling chemicals.
