What is it? What does it do? How can is go bad? Price of the part?

Because apparently the 600RR I JUST BOUGHT has a bad cdi box. I went there to pick it up... and it wouldnt start. they are fixing everything for free, im just curious as to what a cdi box is and what its all about.

Even though he applies it to a Vespa...its the same for almost every bike. As far as cost......well I dont know what the stealership charges butGet that thing runnin bro and post some morepics!!!
