Default Which CBR600RR year model?

hi guys! another newb question here. for the people that have the year models from '05-'08, how do guys like your bikes? i'm trying to make a comparo about them. this pertains to performance, handling, weight, comfort and all other updates that have been added to them. i have read that the '07 model was the best of all. but this was just based off of a motorcyle magazine. i want to hear from you guys. please feel free to write all your comments, pros and cons too. all the help is greatly appreaciated!

I have an 08', and if you're looking for 05-08 then definately go with an 08. It's the first year that has the HESD (Honda Electronic Steering Dampner) which is the greatest thing to happen to these bike IMO. The 08's are also very very light and have great mid to low end power. I don't feel it lacking anything up top either with my full exhaust and PCIII. Good luck with your buy...

[QUOTE=Stay2ned;811783] It's the first year that has the HESD (08)(Honda Electronic Steering Dampner) QUOTE]

FALSE!!!!

the 07 has the HESD as well. the 05/06 year bikes are essentially the same and so are the 07/08 bikes. in 2007 the 600rr was completely redone from the ground up. its faster, lighter and handles incredible. if you have the money spring for the 07/08 model the diff between these bikes and the older ones are HUGE. not that the older ones weren't great bikes, but imo you will regret not getting an 07 or newer.

I know they redid the 07-08 models to be the same but I thought they added the HESD in 08. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Love my 07 you cant go wrong with any of them but i would say either 07 08. You will prob be able to find a 07 cheaper than an 08 but you never know.

I own both, 07 Race bike, 05 street bike (previously raced).... as far as the HESD, I don't like it compared to an aftermarket steering damper, such as GPR, its nice to be able to adjust the dampner, you can take the HESD off the 07/08 and replace it with an aftermarket one. The 07 has a little more race feel, as far as the position of the body goes, the rearsets are up a little more (stock). The engine has a little more pep, not much, but a little. Either way, they both are great street bikes, well at least I think the 07 would be a good "street" bike.

HESD is not a big deal. It is out preformed by a nice aftermarket steering dampner.
