Default CBR600RR Convert...maybe...Got any advice?

I am new to the Honda front and am thinking of buying a CBR600RR. I like the 2007 models and was wondering how much play an educated buyer can have with the dealerships. Is there a chance of talking them down to a lower price, closer to the invoice price? What are some of your experiences with the dealerships when closing the deal?

Hey, welcome to the forum,

I got my '06 RR for just under $7400 while teh MSRP was $9k I think. In my experience
its all about timing, ie: time of year etc. If they know that 10 people are going to come in
and buy one within the week, probably no dice on any deals. Winter is probably the best time
I would think. I am in the DC metro area, and I have seen others get deals below $7k for my bike,
so it seems that some parts of the country and more willing to deal.

Now would probably be a great time to shop for an "old" '06 model as the new thing is coming out
very soon, plus its winter, plus its the end of the year.

Good luck, and happy haggling.

Chris.

Thanks for the advice and the welcome.

With the new 2007 models coming out, I have been trying to decide whether to go for the 2006 to save money or go for the 2007 with the new upgrades. Do you think the upgrades are worth the 1.5 to 2k additional expenditure? Is the new bike going to be THAT much better?

Also, does anyone know the invoice price of the 2006 and 2007 models?

Their isn't going to be a huge differenec between the bikes that a normal person is going to notice. If you ride track alot or on the edge constantly yeah the new bike will be better but not worth the extra 2k in my opinion. Most dealers won't hagel to much because they are only getting so many for the year, so they'll hold on to it to get the price they want because someone will pay the sticker prices. It may not be you but it could be the guy that walked in behind you. Its a guessing game and their betting on the guys willing to pay the $9k to have the newest and best of the best.

I only use 60% at most of the capability of my 2006 CBR600RR. The bike's design (my opinion) is better than me and I have room to grow as a rider. The extra money would be wasted on me for a 2007 model.

go for whatever you like.....between the 06 and 07 i would go for the 07 i like the way it looks better than the 06.....there are differences for sure the 07 is about 15 pounds lighter than the 06
