Sit down wheelie in first....get up to about 8000rpm, scoot your butt all the way back in the seat, roll of fthe throttle just slightly, roll back on hard.BE CAREFUL!

Stand-up in 2nd: I prefer to do mine without clutching it, so i start the wheelie at about 71mph. (around 8k-9k rpms) Get a good balanced stance on the pegs, push down hard to compress the forks, and on the way up crack the throttle hard as you pull upwards on the front. Lock your knees and your arms fully extended---you will feel like you are hangin off of the bike (this is to keep the bike balanced, and not control the wheelie with the throttle.) BE CAREFUL!

NOTE: This is on my stock-geared 600RR. Speeds and RPM's will be different if your bike is geared differently.

How to you go about clutching to get the front end up? Do you[sm=dontgetit.gif] hit a certain rpm range. Never did it before. Is it better to do a power wheelie or clutch it up?

i was taught to do clutching.. i tried over hundreds of times to do it, i could barely get the tire up myself.. (i would do it late night at a shopping center).. but you dont dump the clutch, but you engage it pretty fast.. once you get it down, i know it's second nature but i never gotten it down yet =/.. but ill tell you, 04's are alot easier to wheelie then my 95 (dry weight is lighter for a 04, plus more HP).. give me like 20 minutes, and ill find the website on "how to wheelie".. teaches you all of them..

please wait.... .... .... (20 minutes later.. ok maybe it was 5 minutes but still)

I wheelie mine with standard power wheelies. It's going to depend on your weight a little bit. I weigh like 210 so with my 600 I have to take it up to around 38 mph, in first, roll off the throttle and INSTANTLY back on again. Only, WIDE open when I come back on with it. keep your body leaned back and try to stay sitting up. Your INSTANT reaction the first couple of times will be to lean forward the SECOND that thing comes up JUST A LITTLE BIT! DON'T DO IT!!! just stay sitting up and you'll have her reachin for the sky in NO TIME!!!!!! If you weigh less than me, which is VERY likely. (seems like most guys on 600's are like a buck 60!), you'll want to try it just a LITTLE slower than that. maybe 5 less. I'd say start the method at 30 and go UP from there! good luck!!!!

Part of the problem with clutching our RR's is the gearing....our bikes come stock with a 43 tooth rear, whereas an R6 comes with a 48. My riding buddy can clutch his sittin down at 45 in 2nd and it'll shoot straight up...try that on my 03RR, and it don't do ****.

Standing wheelies are much easier to control, provided that you push yourself away from the bike! This is one of the hardest things to do, because your first instinct when the wheel comes up is to lean forward.

It will come up. I can bounce my stock 03RR in Third without clutching it, provided the RPM's are in the 8-9k range...problem is, that's about 100MPH :-)
