My windscreen has been vibrating/buzzing since i picked my new bike a month ago (an 07) and its driving me insane, it sounds like a bee (i hate bee's) whenever im riding. sooo annoying. I've tried tightening the windscreen but it doesnt seem to make a difference. It seems to be more the plastics that run up along side the windscreen? whenever im stopped and i wiggle those plastics they squeak. Has anyone else ran into this?? any ideas on how to fix it?

 

All the 07's do that. It is the third eye vibrating against the windscreen. Open up the nose and try to secure it with some double sided tape or something to prevent the plastic on plastic.

 

Also, you could just get a slip on, and not hear it anymore.

 

lol.. ya i already got the slip on, it covers up the noise at higher rpms but when im cruizin around town it doesnt.

 

Mine did it. Take out the middle light, and put some foam tape on the top where you can visibly see where the windscreen touches the light. Either that, or you can get a Puig double-bubble. I replaced my windscreen without any modifications, and it doesn't buzz anymore.

But this buzz is still much better than the infamous 05/06 5000 rpm tank buzz that drove me up a freaking wall for months until I read about what it was.

At around 5000 RPM, the tank cover would buzz very loudly and VERY annoyingly. It drove me freaking nuts (because I hate rattles and buzzes and wanted to find and eliminate the cause). Finally, I read a thread on here about it coming from the airbox rubbing underneath the tank cover. And wouldn't you know it? You can even see the rub marks. So some foam tape strips and 30 minutes worth of work........no more buzzy.

 

oh well i was just confused cuz mine does not. i think the guy before me already did the foam or something. but i agree man i hate any buzzing
