best way to locate hole for sliders

RE: best way to locate hole for sliders
All of those methods are great...you could also contact your local dealership, preferrably a Honda one, and ask them for frame slider mounting specs. They should have specific, detailed specs/instructions about installing frame sliders. I watched them do mine. The Tech, who's also a good friend of mine, Doug, took off each fairing...laid them both down on padding so they wouldn't get scatched, then used a "stencil" and did all kinds of measurements (on each side, front and back)...double checked, checked again, and then started drilling. My teeth were grinding and I was freaking out while I heard the sound of a drill plowing through my fairings, kind of like the same feeling when you're getting a tattoo, but in the end, the results are well worth it! Good luck man, keep us posted, and if we don't hear something from you until after you have them installed, post some pics for the forum!

RE: best way to locate hole for sliders
Yeah dude no cut sliders maybe easy to install but it will cause more damage. I drilled a hole in my fairings by loosening the engine bolts and marking the head. Then drilled it out, it was not perfect but I use a dremel to make the hole bigger and made smoother. When you are drilling the hole make sure you have something smooth under the fairing cause if you dont that shiny paint of yours will look like ****.
