The beauty of brakes
Finally put on my radial master and stainless steel lines. I bought a nissan master and goodridge stainless for a 06 1KRR. Feedback is real good and I think a little more powerful. I'm going to hit it up later tonight. I'll see if I can shrink my brake markers. I think the next step is the 1KRR 320mm rotors, the caliper spacers, and my pilot powers. I'm going to see how my project turns out.
Peace.
Peace.
I think dope somes it up. I don't know if it was my confidence, skill or the brakes them self but with each pass I noticed that I was stopping quicker and quicker. Practiced some panic stops and noticed how the bike wants to pull stoppies easier than before the upgrade. I think I might decrease the pre-load and compression in the front just a hair. I let a buddy of mine w/ a 06 R6 ride it and he wants trade his in for my 6RR. By the way the new R6 moves (above 10-11K rpm) and handles very well w/ qualifers just takes a little time to get use to it. Seating postions sucks, not user friendly to male riders. Nice bike, can live w/out the comfort but just missing the HONDA refinement. Anyway for those that can appreciate a good brake set up I recommend a radial master and lines. Lots of index finger braking, I could only imagine what the 320mm rotors and spacers will do! The bottomless money pit has opened up and swallowed me hole. When a hobbie becomes an addiction. I need to post some pics when I figure out how to upload them in a smaller format.
This is a very good race/track modification, but totally unnecessary for every day street riding (even aggressive street riding)...better brakes do not make a better rider...the stock brakes are more than acceptable (even for most track novices).
Fretless33 YOU ARE DEFINITLY RIGHT WHEN YOU SAY BETTER BRAKES DO NOT MAKE A BETTER RIDER! You still have to know how and when to use them.
But why have accepatble when you can have great. People put exhaust on for noise and "power." I upgraded my brakes cause I like to stop and my OCD. Neither of my cars have stock brakes, why make the bike feel jealous. That's my baby girl. If I could w/ out costing me $$$$$$$$$$$ I would make my own minnie 1KRR. HESD, hydrolic clutch, and tail piece. Less weight, good balance, nice redline, sick power, and easier to stop. One man's unnecessary is another man's obsession. Plus it's ordered, on the bike, and works very well and if it didn't I'd be PISSED!!!!!!

Can you also guarantee me winning lotto numbers. I got a "couple" miles on the street and a few on a mini bike track. Used to race a xr 50, motarded out for road courses. Anyway they give a very positve feel w/ one finger and got 60-0mph down to probably 9-10ft off stock. That's the difference from stopping or bleeding in the backseat of someones car or hitting Bambi chillin in the road. It all makes a difference, 10mm bigger (320MM) and the radial are on the 1KRR for a reason. If it didn't work it wouldn't be on the bike. Some EBC pads and the spacers no doubt this thing will be insane. Every little bit helps.

I won't deny that aftermarket brakes will give more stopping power, that's what they're designed to do, but the same can be done with stock brakes, just with more effort. With what you've put on the stopping power is there instantly (unless you put on race pads) and there will be no flex in the lines.
Give a newbie high powered brakes like yours in a panic situation and I'll also guarantee him ending up on his *** not knowing what happened...
I never said or told a newbie that this was a mod for them. Never clarified who it was for other than the enthusiast looking for an "edge"/ "good break setup" and they definitly out perfom my stock brakes. And if my "experience" doesn't live up to yours I'm sorry. I don't act like pro racer or claim to be one. This is as fun as it's going to be. I love working on my toys then testing them out to judge what I've done. Not to have others judge. Everyone has an opinon which I love to hear feedback, good or bad. But me saying it's better and you saying it's not because of skill it's like how do you know? Your not riding it, your not seeing me ride so basically your calling me 1)wrong or 2) a liar but to "each their own." As far as witty why make such bold guarantees when like you said you don't my "experience" status.

I don't write these things to pick on you or any one else, but to keep the concept out there that you don't need to mod your bike to be a better...learning your bike and improving your skills will make the better rider.
I would guess that 90% or more of people riding sports bikes couldn't out perform the capabilities of their machine even on their best day!
