Default Is this bad?

I went +2 in the rear for more torque leaving turns and for the track. But most of the roads I ride on when I'm not in the twisties or at the track are 55+mph. On the highway my rpms are constantly around 8 - 8.5k and i've been riding like this for 1 to 2 hours straight. Am I going to burn out my motor or cause some premature problems? Before the sprocket the rpms were around 6.5 - 7k on the highway. Thanks for the help.

Redline is at 15k....riding at half that consistently is no problem. Just be careful, since you're much closer to the peak part of the torque/HP curve at that point. Wouldn't take much twisting to get in an unwanted sticky situation.

burnt out motor at a half way point? come on!
anyway, the only thing you are doing from going at higher rmps is waste much more gas by going at your fixed speed. if you are concerned about the gas than just go up a gear or two.
