My dealer charges an extra $100 for sweet nothings.

If they're a good dealerthen the service dept. will keep a record that the bike was at least brought back once for service. THEY ARE SUPPOSE to go over the whole bike make sure everything is still tight, adjust/lube the chain, check clutch/throttle cable specs, check psi, and change the oil. Glorified oil change in the house! But at least that it's on file that a service was done at the recommended interval. After that if you want to do it yourself keep all reciepts for filter, oil and other lubes.
Congrats and be safe.
