Akrapovic Evo Custom Map!
Does anyone who has the full Akrapovic evo exhaust for the 07-08 cbr600rr have a custom map for it? or did you use the one provided by dynojet online? if you used the one online how does the bike run? i want to know if i need to spend the money right away to get the ike custom mapped.
You do not need to spend the money to get it mapped "right away" by any means. The one on Dynojet's website (be glad you have one!) will work fine for the time being. I've run my exhaust (which nobody has a map to go by) for about 8 months without a "true" map for my said exhaust. I use the zero map, the "stock fix" map... akrapovic, jardine dual outlet... I've swapped it all around. Even tweaked a few things (with moderation) on my own. No ill effect what-so-ever has befallen the bike.
The real trick is... with a custom map you will get the BEST map for your SPECIFIC bike. Bikes differ, all of them, even one 07 RR to another. Different engine break in, tiny differences from the factory, imperfections in metal, differences in climate, oil used, and on and on.
In short, run whatever you want. If they have a map on the site for your exhaust, use it. They'll all do fine. Custom map is best, but not going to hurt anything if you don't have the money at this very moment.
