Default After Market Pipes

Hey all,

I have been reading in these forums but never joined until now. I have purchased an 06 CBR 600RR, previous bike was a 2000 F4 and was wondering if a pipe will void the warranty on the bike? Also its seems to be that everyone says either the Jardine RT-1 or Yosh RS-5 are the best for the 600RR. I have heard the sound clips and think that sound wise they both sound close to the same but for those of you that have either one i know this will be a bit biased.....does the performance from either one outweight the other? And any info or input about which frame sliders are good would be appreciated i know that they should be Delrin......but which brand?

Thanks

well in my expeience most dealers in bike are nothing like cars dealerships. meaning they seem to encurage aftermarket add ons.. my buddy has had his shadow for years and its got aftemerket pipes and the dealer never gave him a hassle about warrenty work... of course if you dont own an extended warrenty then the factory warrenty only last a year anyway. would love to see a bike manufacturer go out on a limb and warrenty for 3-5 from the factory. yeah like that would happen. I havent done anything mechanical yet to mine but exhaust is first on the list.

I've never heard of anyone having a warranty problem over an exhaust. But then again, most Honda's don't have warranty issues. Again, with the cruisers, my buddy with a VTX 1800F just took his into the shop because the start button fried. They never once said anything about his pipes or Silver Star, higher watt bulb.

I have the RS-5 Carbon Cone on order... IMO, the exhausts are close enough in performance so it comes down to looks and sound.

Sounds like you have done your homework on sound. And yes I am biased since I have a RS-5 Carbon coming (soon???)

I guess look at each and pick off that. Stats are so close doesn't matter.

You will not void your warranty by adding on an aftermarket pipe. In face a lot of dealers will install after market mods to include pipes on new bikes for sale fresh on the showroom.
