After a full season on the '07 CBR - Impressions?
Hi there,
Bought a bran new 1000RR last spring and I love the bike.
Although I much prefer a liter bike on the road as opposed to a 600cc (although you always have to hold off), it is kind of a handful on the track...
I am therefore thinking about trading in the 1K for a 600, and spend more time on track days.
For the lucky ones who currently own one, how would you compare it to any other sportbike you owned and how does it feel on both the streets and the track?
Pat : )
PS: Canadian fellow riders, how much can I expect to pay for a bran new one?

The 07 600RR is a fantastic machine. Surprising midrange for a 600. Very smooth and linear power. Handles like a dream. I love the bike. Everyone I know personally hwo has ridden one loved it and either bought one or is dreaming of buying one. It's a once in a decade type bike. There is a reason that every mag that came out last year rated it above every bike test after test.
Talk to "Darth" on 600rr.net . He's a canadian, works at a Honda dealer, has an RC51 and lots of experience with a lot of bikes. He loves his 600. Niner1000 on 600RR.net and 1000RR.net has both too.

I don't own one so I have very little to contribute to this thread but I almost thought about selling my SV650 track bike and trading in my new Ducati in to get a new 600RR. I came close but its hard to sell two bikes to buy one, especially when having the two is a LOT more practical so I backed out. Hopefully in a few years I'll be able to get one, its definitely a dream bike of mine.

Still debating whether or not to buy a new 07 for the track and fix-up the wrecked 06 for the street or the other way around. The 06 would be easier to make into a track bike, but the 07 is more at home on the track. Still don't know yet.

The bike is extremely flickable and powerful for it's light frame. I found myself not using the top-end of the bike, so I geared the bike +3 in the rear for more out of the corners and am more then satisfied.
Just like you said ... the 1k is much for the road and i'll say its a little much for thetrack. The 1k can still put you in a sticky situation on the track coming out of corners to hard and your body's endurance managing the weight of the bike.
You will appreciate the weight reduction(very noticeable to me)on the '07 600 and the forgivability of the throttle. My only thing I wish Honda would have done to this bike is a Slipper Clutch.
