Not sure on 05 to 06 mods, you can check out HONDA web site and it will give you the spec differences, weight, bore and stroke all the tech stuff.as for as diff on RR to F-4i big diff, handling, "POWER", seating ergonomics, styling etc.... RR got alot more umph !!! not good starter bike.

The 04-06 F4i's are exactly the same other than color schemes
The F4i was in 01-02 Honda's premier 600 sportbike, fast as hell and a technological leap from the other 600s out at the time. In 2003 Honda came out with the 600RR a revolutionary bike based (styling mostly) on its MotoGP race bike. The 600RR is more aggressive (seating and performance) than the F4i, which Honda kept around as a beginner/ almost-sport touring bike. In 2004 Honda changed the F4i's seat (in 01-03 the F4i had a split seat like most sportbikes do) to a "banana seat" which means one seat for the rider and passenger, making it more comfortable so that the F4i and RR are not directly competing motorcycles. No other changes were made to the F4i so the 04-06 is just an 01-03 F4i with a different tail section. The F4i also has 8-10 less horsepower than the 600RR and is more stable/smooth (due to a little more weight and less aggressive geometry)
in short the F4i is a better beginner bike

The "RR"..... the F4i is your choice if your going to choose a starter, it's pretty "powerful" still for the lesser of the 2 bike's, alway's start "small" with these type of bike's, they are not toy's and require some respect, you did not mention yer riding exp or time on bike's in general, that's ALWAY'S a factor in chosing a bike, we here at CBR forum's want to see you around for a long time, and hear and see all the good time's on yer bike

well....not knowing what your "experience" is, but judging by your posts...doesn't sound like you have much experience and may need to research a little more before you jump onto a sport bike. if you are a noob i would say to start off small.......i think huffy makes a good beginner bike.
