Default ABS or no ABS?

I searched, but couldn't find a thread yet about this(if there is, sorry! please link me)

Anyway...

I've seen positives and negatives to having ABS on a sportbike, and wanted to open up a conversation on the topic. This way we can discuss and share all we know about it, and everyone can form their own opinions

So....go! haha

tbh, I've never had a bike with abs. I can see the benefit - you can grab a handful of brake and not have to worry about the front end washing out. There are many longtime riders who have many more miles under there belt than I say they would take non-abs any day... more control in more conditions.

Then there is this scenario: Learn to ride on a CBR500R with abs, get comfy with it, and never need to worry about locking it up. Then you upgrade to a CBR600rr without abs. See where I am going with this?

Non abs because of the control, and the ability to slide the rear all cool like the moto gp riders.

ABS. Everyone can have an off day. It's a safety feature for just that situation. So long as the rider doesn't use it as a crutch, always grabbing a handful of brakes and letting it work for him, he'll learn proper braking.

I don't have a problem with it. But I won't be putting it on one of my bikes or buying a bike with ABS.
