Default 600RR with Repsol paint job

Haven't ridden in 20 years, since college... got the itch. Decided on a Honda CBR 600 to get back on the horse. Looking for a quality F41 or an RR in the $6000 or under range.

Anyway... saw one on-line at a near-by dealer that fits most of my criteria, looks sexy, but it's a 600RR with a Respol paint job. I don't really know anything about what made the Respol special, but I know that it was a 1000RR edition, not offered on the 600.

I used to play around with BMW's and I had a 545i. As a purist, I hated it when guys tried to make their 5 series look like an M when it wasn't.

I'm new to bikes but I would assume that purists probably wouldn't like this either. Wondering what you guys think.

As long as you don't gop around like an idiot telling people it is a real repsol or slap some 1000RR decals on it, I am sure no one will care if you have aftermarket fairings.

If you like it is all that matters

I hear you on being a purist as I am one my self. Thing is bikes and cars are completely different. You can't slap SS wheels and badging on a car and have it be an SS. But with a bike the only difference is a paint job, underneath everything is the exact same. Being a Repsol edition doesn't make it any different than any other 600RR out there. With that being said if the fairings are in good shape and it's a good paint job(along with the bike checking out) go for it.

I hear you on the poser thing with the ///M, but the M is a performance upgrade, I don't believe the repsol appearance package actually enhanced the drivetrain.
