Is the 600rr really that uncomfortable???
Hey guys! I was just wondering if you guys have any glaring complaints about the comfort-level of the 600rr? I've read a couple of diffrent reviews that range from "torture rack" to "liveable". I'm pretty tall so the ride height isn't a problem, but I am concerned about how low the clip-ons are and, not being exactly svelte, how much weight it places on your hands/wrists. I've sat on it in the showroom but haven't had a chance to ride one yet. It doesn't seem so bad just to sit on though. Let me know what you think.

well, keep in mind that this bike was not designed to be a touring bike! I am about 5'9" and weigh about 190# and I have found it so-so comfort wise. If I am on the highway or a back road and I can tuck in it isn't too bad (my upper back gets sore after a while though). If I am in traffic my right hand gets numb from having to sit up while holding the throttl and the steering vibrating and such--unfortunately I live in a urban area and it takes a good 30-40 minutes of heavy traffic to get to a fun road.
It is not a fun bike to ride for hours at a time, it is a bit of a work out, your back and/or right arm may get tired, and I find that it makes my knees ache (but I have pretty bad knees)... I would never want to do a long touring type trip on the bike... but then on a twisting back road it is so much fun--handles like a champ, very tossable, tons of grip!
It is a race bike and if that is what you are looking for you will enjoy the h*ll out of it... if you want something comfortable get an Interceptor (not being sarcastic, seriously)... there a lot of comfort compromises with a bike like this...

Its murder on my ***. I only weigh 175 lbs and I'm 6'3. My only major complaints is my left wrist goes numb for days, and my *** hurts after any long rides. The seats have basically no padding. Also more than half of my miles have been with my girl on the back. It is definately not meant for 2 person riding. When I ride with my girl my hands go numb even longer because you have to support both peoples weight on the wrists. My girl is like 100 lbs so its not like she is big, but it definately was meant for solo riding. I have no butt either so that adds to the discomfort. With one person, its much better. still go numb in a few spots though
