600RR Plastics....
First time down on my RR.....riding when itwas to cold after work with dew on teh ground....slip goes the back tire =(. Since bike fell on my leg andshattered my foot [sm=sigh.gif]I have plenty of time to find bargain priced platics. Anyone know where I can new plastics for a decent price. The local Honda dealership qouted me at 1600 bucks for a new front, side and rear plastic, and 2 new mirriors. I thought it could be beat and figured this would be the best place to ask.
My dad also mentioned somewhere where I could send my plastics and they can fix them back to brand new, paint and all and send them back to me... Anyone know if thats good way to go?

RE: 600RR Plastics....
Search for Planet Racing Honda on eBay. Just had to replace left side mid cowl and rear cowl and battery tray/trunk floor on my 05 600RR. Prices were lower than Ron Ayers.
Here is what I paid for Honda OEM parts:
Mid Left Cowl: $251
Rear Cowl: $257
Mid Fairing Bracket: $11
Lower Fairing Bracket: $6
battery tray/trunk floor piece, it's $36.
Upper Cowls run just under $500 for an OEM piece. eBay has all kinds of aftermarket pieces for lots less, but I have no details.
If you jacked up your fairings, odds are you jacked up the mounting brackets too so buy new ones.

Looks like the last post has you at well over 500 bucks or so. I know I just saw a whole new kit (complete fairings) for like 500 bucks on eBay. Mirrors will of course add to the cost but then you'll have extra pieces of plastic should you or your buddies go down. If not, hell, sell the parts you don't need on eBay and make back a bit of your money.
Not sayin' the last post was bogus...this is just another route!

It's true he could take a chance on some aftermarket plastics but we're talking about an 06 here, bro.
When I patched on my 05 I know I wanted OEM stuff for my black RR - I'm willing to bet he does too. However, his budget will dictate what he buys.
If you go for the aftermarket parts, make sure you search this site and others to see if anyone else has used the brand you are considering. I've heard horror stories about having to drill your own holes for mounting, poor fit, etc.
Oh - and you may as well buy yourself some swingarm spools, frame sliders, and bar ends while your at it. Shogun makes a crash kit that has all 3 items for just under $100. It's well worth the money.
