Default 600rr Fan ?

Hi everybody I just bought a 03 600rr. I'm going to Ocean City this weekend for bike week and i'm worried about my motor running hot. What would it hurt if I hooked up my fan to a toggle switch so I could turn it on myself instead of waiting for the motor to get hot for it to come on. Personally I dont like my bike running real not. And I know i'm going to be in a lot of traffic.

As long as it comes at at 220 like it's supposed to then there's no need to modify it.

Ok well is 220 safe and what is considered hot for these bikes. I thought anything over 205 and up was too hot myself

That's the temp that the fan is supposed to come on so I would have to assume that it's safe.

alot of people hook up a fan switch, when my bike getsaround 200 in traffic i flip the switch and it stays around 200, which is what i wanted.
make sure youonly tap into fan (not cut wire) so it can still come on by itself at 220!

If the fan needed to be on at 200 Honda would have made it come on at that temp. It isn't needed.

I just noticed today that the fan does something a little strange for those of you who didn't know.........

I was idling the bike up to temperature to warm the exhaust to cure the paint on the exhaust. Well, if you rev it over 3000 and hold it there (doesn't matter the temperature) the fan will kick in. Once you let off the throttle, it turns off. But each time I took it over 3000 and kept it there, the fan would kick in.

Just found it out today, and spreading the word. Thought you guys would like to know that little fun fact.
