2008 is gonna be a competetive year
I like the European signals that come on the Honda 600RR. At least the '07 that I saw. Clear, front and back. I have a feeling the wouldn't pass DOT inspection here. That is why they stick with the lame/dated looking lights. What you do to your bike after the sell is up to you. It's out of Honda's hands when it comes to liability. Just my theory.

I always wondered if honda or any other company knew that everyone gets rid of the factory tail/head lights, but still made them how they are. Why woudlnt they just make them flushmounts or have the fender already gone?? Maybe they have some kind of agreement with the aftermarket companies, which doesnt sound all that crazy, considering they could probably make an exhaust that sounded like the aftermarket slip-ons for the same cost as their own, or something similar. Just something ive thought about but cant really have answered unless anyone here has talked to an executive from honda

the reason why the manufacturers make those ugly tails it because they are DOT and STATE law compliant. just like cars/boats/tanks; bike needs to pass the state inspections and the turning signals on bike should be anywhere from 4-9"(depending on the state) to the side of the tail.
edit:
btw, intergrated tails are illegal in most states. cops dont really care nor does the dude doing the 10 bucks inspection.
Well, I think thr Honda is still the overall best as far as the 600 class. If Josh Hayes hadn't crashed both weeks atLaguna Seca, CBR 600RR would have SWEPT everything (SBK & AMA)...

you think honda (even as HUGE a company as they may be) foots the entire bill for their race team?
nope the sponsors make the high performance parts in exchange for the production bikes being made well, but outta LESSER quality parts....so the regular joes are encouraged to upgrade....
its the same in every industry...this is why chevy's dont ALL come with the vette motor, borla exhaust, carbon fiber fender wells, natuzi leather, dvd's with 32" plazma'sand 24"s on them...
Just one question besides looks how do the rest of these bikes compete against the cbr600 rr in performance. I am a performance guy though looks are a plus performance is always better. From what I have read thus far the cbr 600 rr is still king in its class as far as performance goes. The 08 zx6r does not have the power the R6 is still that a race bike and not really pratical for street riding. Just doing my own personal research this is how I would rank bikes in terms of being pratical for the streets
cbr 600 rr
triumph 675
kawi zx6r
This just based on the research I have done on street riding.

man, im probably going to get banned for saying this.....but im thinking triumph's (stock)might just be faster than honda's as a rule of thumb...they use lighter(more costly) materials and put bigger displacement engines on their bikes....pretty sure its always been that way....
you put a triumph daytona (594cc-not the 954) against a 600rr and the triumph will outrun it all day long...now cornering? cant say either way....
i would probably put a speed tripple against anything honda can come up with on the track...

it wasnt until the 675 came out was the triumph faster. then this year when the 07 600rr came out it was lighter, quicker, and faster.
now as far as the daytona 594? could be mistaken but dont remeber them making one that was 594 cc. the 1st gen was 599cc, 2nd gen was 650cc, and the 3rd is 675cc. i know for sure the 3rd gen is only 3 cylinders, the 2nd and 1st im not sure of.
the 2000 tt 600 had 94 hp, the 05 650 had 107 hp, and the 675 has 109.
