Default 2008 600 RR

I'm going to buy a 2008 600RR but I am wondering when the best time to buy it is. I don't want to wait until the end of next season. If need be I can wait until around august if I have to but I am wondering if a dealer would be willing to part with an 08 (if they have them) in march for less than they would once the riding season gets started.

March is too late. Now is the best time to buy. Get an 07. Same thing and the dealer is motivated this time of year.

I'm not a Psychologist, I just play one here on the forum.

My guess would be that January is the best time to buy. Besides the weather, that's when everyone is suffering from shock after they open up their post-Christmas credit card statements.

I spent how much?!! [sm=yikesomg.gif]

Yes, the colder the month the slower the motorcycle sales, and the more willing the dealer will be to make a deal.

Also... unless you're dead set on one of the '08 colors; an '07 is the same bike, but the dealer will part with it for cheaper. ( This happened to me... I wanted a white one, and was willing to pay extra for it, so I had the dealer get one from out of town because they were out of them. )

The Red/Black ones are flipping sweet! I'm personally holding out until the 09/10 models come out. By then, I'll be ready to buy two (one to race, my current 06 to play with at the track, and another one for the street) You likey my dreams, no?

I got the best deal on mine during the peak of season (June).........they were actually more expensive during the winter months, wonder why? Granted it was 05 for an 06 model..........versus I bought mine as an 06 in 06, maybe that's why it was more in the winter time.

If you really want to save money on a motorcycle purchase. SHOP AROUND. When I was looking to buy my 07 600RR in April I was prepared to pay MSRP maybe even higher. Granted, at the time I also lived in South-Eastern Georgia and riding season down there is almost year round. I got on the trusty internet and went to google, yahoo, etc. and looked for HIGH VOLUME Dealerships. I paid 7900 OTD for my bike by driving nearly 350 miles to get it. A lot of people would saythat I am an idiot for driving that far for my bike, but in retrospect, for the 700 miles round trip it cost me $120 in gas. I paid only8500 for the bike. SO, I basically paid $8620 for my bike. If I would have gone to my local dealer that is literally 2 miles away, I would have paid $10500. I SAVED $1880. Some people say " If you have dealer loyalty they will help you on the price and stuff in the future." BULL****. All they care about is their commission. I say make the drive and save a TON of money. You will be glad that you did.

I'll second that --[sm=bs.gif]

Salespeople will say almost anything to get the deal done.

Wait till the end of the year and shop around on the internet - I saved nearly $1K off of MSRP with no hassles and no haggling.
