I just bought a CBR600RR 07 from a guy, private sale. When I bought it the Temp Would display around 175ish, a day later it just was stuck on 95F, then today it shows nothing at all its blank, and the fans arent kicking on when its hot( i assume due to the temp not displaying) I've checked the fuses and they are all good, Theres no Modifications aside from a LED kit and fender eliminator. Anyone have any ideas? Should I just take it to a shop?

Check the temp sensor itself, and make sure the coolant is full.

 

Im a total novice at motorcycles, all I know is how to do basic maintenance, is this something i can do myself?

 

I am not the one that can make that call. If you aren't comfortable in attempting it or are short on the tools needed to do it, then get help from someone who is equipped for the job. A shop will diagnose it and fix it correctly. If you (and a friend maybe) tackle it, you will learn more but it may be a longer road.

 

Given what you stated, try getting your hands on a factory service manual (should be able to download one from this site) and read the process Demon suggested. If it seems like something you can handle, then give it a shot. If not, at least you have an idea what the mechanic would be doing and you learn something.

 

If you want to get handy on any motorcycle you should buy the haynes service manual for your type of motorcycle.
It gives an infinite amount of information and these books pay for themselves.
