Does anybody know if a 2004 CBR600RR is a 49 state bike or if the same model isused for all 50 states? IE can a 2004 non California model with less than 7500 miles be registered in CA? Are all 2004 the same from an emission perspective?

NO..California models are specific..what exactly I am not sure, buit we did an insurance repair on a 04 and I know for a fact that the right side belly pan fairing is different due to the location of the Evaportive cannister.
I believe it is a digit in the VIN number that sets it apart, and DMV should catch it. If not then you are good to go, but that is a large purchase to make that gamble

 

Can you take the evaportive can off and would it make a difference.
