Default 2003 CBR 600RR

Hello all, I am a new rider/member of the forum. I will be buying my first motorcyle here in a few days, its a 2003 CBR 600RR w/6100 miles on it. I was just wondering, since this is the first year of the redesign are there any certain areas I should pay special attention to when checking the bike out before I buy it. Any frequent or recurring problems with this model year. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Greg

Look for the usual signs of it being downed or wreaked. ask the owner if anything comes up that he didn't tell you about.

clean plastics don't always mean a clean bike, look for scratches on the swing arm and engine covers.

but a downed bike is not horrible, most bikes have been dropped, just make sure everything is strait.

also if you can, run the bike for a while, let it get hot, then try to restart it. that was the only problem mine had, I think it was related to the regulator/rectifier. but charging the battery fixed it (not sure how, but it did) and she has started right up ever since (last problem was a year ago)

all in all its an awesome bike, enjoy.

Gainesville....cool, I use to live in Gainesville years ago...I loved it. If things would have worked out differently I would still be there. Thanks for the input on the CBR, I am real anxious to get the bike. Thanks again,

Greg

Make sure you check the "bump stops" on the frame near the neck...there are two bumps on the frame where the forks hit to stop the forks when you turn them left and right... if there is an imperfections in those bumps, chances are the bike has been crashed, and hard...

If you don't mind, how much are you paying for it? Seems like with the economy bikes would be getting cheaper and cheaper.
