Default 1000RR VS 600RR

How fast does each one go? Very curious due to the fact that I can't see possibly going anywhere near the limit on my 600! Is the 1000RR mainly for the track. Was told by Honda that my bike could reach speeds up to 160-165! Where the hell am I gonna find a road by me to test that limit let alone a 1000 that can do up to 185??

Dude, it doesn't take very long to top one of these babies out. If you gotta go more than a mile to hit top end -- you're doing it wrong[8D] If you're not used to hitting ludicrous speeds be cautioned: they don't handle the same at 170mph as they do at 100mph. Stuff comes at you incredibly fast and reactions must be instinctive.

Having said all that ... my 1000RR has indicated a big 174mph on the speedo in 5th gear. That's quite fast enough.

Anywayz... , I got my bike up to 150 mph today! Almost got killed though as this idiot decided to veer into my lane without looking and I slammed on the brakes but it was inevitable that I was going to crash into him at about 85 mph All of a sudden he realized the error of his ways and right before I was about to hit the bumper, he quickly made a sharp right back into the other lane. Let me tell you...That was definitely the closest I've been to death as of yet! It's a weird feeling knowing you're going to crash and theres not one thing you can do about it After that incident, my chest was hurting and I had severe heartburn ..I lugged the bike the rest of the way home at about 40 mph's and collapsed on my living room floor when I arrived home only to be licked on the nose and mouth by my wacky pooch!...

Wow. It sounds like you learned a lesson. Glad to hear you made it out alright. Just goes to show there's a time to go fast, and a time to watch your butt. Pulling 150 on a road with other cars isn't the best of ideas, play it extra safe and find a long, deserted road to push the limits.
