09 seat & pegs
Hello,
I'm buying an 09 CBR 600 in May , and all I have left to do is sell my old bike. I had the rare opportunity to rent the green 09 for a day, and I completely fell in love. My old bike just doesn't feel the same any more. *sigh*
Anyway, the two things I'm interested in changing once I get the CBR are the seat and rear sets. The stock seat makes my a$$ numb after only an hour of riding. Normally I ride for 2+ hours non-stop. Plus it's a stretch for me to reach the control pegs comfortably. Is it because I'm tall? I'm 5'10" if that means anything.
So I need suggestions on a more comfortable seat. As for the pegs, is this something I can adjust myself? I lowered the brake control peg on my old bike (92 Yamaha Seca II), but I don't know if I can do the same on a CBR, or even the gear peg.
Btw for those interested in the rental, Hot Scooter Rentals in Ft Lauderdale FL on Sunrise & A1A rents the green 09 for $250 for 24 hours with insurance. It's worth it. I had the time of my life on that thing, and was so sad to return it. It was a good investment because now I know for sure that I like the bike.

You can adjust the shifter and the rear break pedal but not the peg's, I have the same bike, both the seat and the peg's took a few miles to get used too i'm about the same height 5 10 my leg's cramped like mad for two weeks and my bumbum was sore for about a week. Now that im used to it its the best ever, just had to man up through the adjustment phase

That's the word I was looking for: the pedals. Awesome, I'm glad to hear I can adjust that if I need to. I've heard lots of good things about Corbin seats too. Expensive but well worth it I guess. I'll look around. Thanks guys! I look forward to joining the "gang" soon I suppose the rider has his/her own break-in period too.
