i think msrp for '06 was 8,999 - i bought mine in may of '06 for 9,100 otd (inc. all taxes/fees) - (and i had them throw in some gear and give me a giant discount on a jacket, so i probably made off under msrp)

not sure if that gives you any indication of where to go with the 09's because i think with the latest advances its gonna make it harder to talk them down/find a lower price - i think the best case (and i'm lucky to have this as an option here in wilmington) is to find a crappy dealer that doesn't move inventory who has some leftover 2006's, 2007's, or 2008's and buy one of them. you'll be getting a brand new bike for one or two THOUSAND less than msrp - the dealership here has a leftover 2006 and 2007 cbr1000rr for barely more than i paid for my 2006 cbr600rr - makes me feel like **** - but i've enjoyed mine thoroughly for the past two and a half+ years
